Abstract: Describes 3 cases in which hypnotherapy was used in the context of marriage and relationship counseling. The main influences on the approaches used come from Ericksonian hypnosis, analytical hypnotherapy, and neurolinguistic programming. Working principles are derived, and it is argued that hypnotherapy is a more potent change process than traditional counseling approaches.
